Fly New Zealand "INDEX" file 7 June 1998 For questions contact Wagner B. Beskow W.B.Beskow@massey.ac.nz To be used with Microsoft Flight Simulator. You will need New Zealand scenery (currently NZv12.zip) as well. More information about this project can be found in FlyNZreadme.txt uploaded separately AND included in zip files of the series. ATTENTION: NOT TO BE USED FOR REAL NAVIGATION !!! ---------------------------------- Copyrights - use this material for flight simulation ONLY, unless you are a stupid pilot! - DO NOT MAKE MONEY OUT OF THESE FILES directly or inderectly; - original author's DO NOT have any kind of responsibility towards this project or the use of these files; THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE nor is anybody but YOU. - if you need to fly real planes in New Zealand contact Airways Corporation of New Zealand. Airways Corporation of New Zealand Limited has the copyrights of ALL the original material used to produce this set of scanned charts and texts. ----------- INDEX Files currently available are: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- FILE NZ AIRPORT COMMENTS -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- => From IFG (Instrument Flight Guide). Here you will find STAR, IAP, Aerodrome chart and SID. FlyNZAAv1.zip Auckland Includes area chart (very useful). FlyNZCHv1.zip Christchurch Caution: NZCH localizers are inverted in NZ v1.2 (NZv12.zip). It seems it will be correct in the next version. FlyNZCIv1.zip Chatham Islands Includes "CI routes" chart. There seem to be problems with CI longitude in SquawkBox and Pro-Controller. So while this isn't cleared/solved avoid flying to/from CI under SB/PC. FlyNZQNv1.zip Queenstown MOUNTAINOUS TERRAIN !!!!!!! VERY DIFFICULT APPROACH with poor visibility. Runway 23 is displaced to the left so R218 VOR SH is to lead you to a visual contact. As soon as you have spotted the runway turn left for base leg. I have watched a video of NZ B737-200 flying NZCH-NZQN and it is just like that. However they were able to CANCEL the instrument app at 10,000ft as they had good visibility. This landing is a test for both real and virtual pilots! The IFG does not mention landing on Rwy05. It seems it is only possible for small aircrafts. FlyNZWNv1.zip NZWN does not have STAR plates. Read NZWN_arr-dep.doc. => From Planning Manual (all general rules and procedures will be found in this section) FlyNZGv1.zip (replaced by v2 below) Contains IMPORTANT information on IFR procedures, aircraft categories, landing minima table explained, etc. FlyNZGv2.zip IFR procedures, aircraft categories, landing minima, aerodrome control clearances, NZ AIR SPACE, NZ QNH procedures (transition levels), circuit procedures, etc. THIS IS A MUST HAVE (and read) FILE !!!!! FlyNZATC.zip All you want to know about the phraseology used by controllers and pilots in a wide range of situations. Comprehensive but easy to understand. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: NZindex3.txt will replace index2 and so on. These numbers are not related to the airport "v" numbers above, so we will have index4... but most airport zips will still be "v1".
